Adopt-A-Block

Keep Florence Beautiful and the City of Florence have teamed up to form the Adopt-A-Block campaign and they need your help! Individuals, businesses, block-clubs or organizations are encouraged to adopt their block and help Keep Florence Beautiful!
When your group volunteers to become an Adopt-A-Block Volunteer, they agree to:
• Adopt-A-Blockfor a minimum of 1 year.
• Pick up litter on a regular basis (at least 6 times a year) along the
boulevards (all 4 sides), and the alley (if applicable); and participate in the
annual Great American Clean-up.
• Remove overgrown weeds from sidewalks, boulevards and curbs.
• Bag litter and weeds in bags.
• Place filled bags and other collected litter in regular garbage carts or dumpsters for collection, place bags of yard waste at the regualr yard waste collection point.

Then contact Keep Florence Beautiful at (843) 665-3113 for more information on how to become a part of the program and information vital to your groups’ success! After your first successful cleanup, Adopt-A-Block group recognition signs will be placed along the adopted block by the City of Florence .
